We are in uncharted economic waters. Anxiety and uncertainty loom as the current economic downturn is having serious repercussions both nationally and locally. Data provided by our beneficiary agencies indicate that dramatically growing numbers in our service area are in serious financial difficulty. Local agencies have insufficient resources to address the increased urgent needs in our Jewish and general community.

Federation's Anne & Sam Klein Jewish Coalition for Literacy recently received the Hall of Fame award from the School District of Palm Beach County during a ceremony celebrating the district’s 2009 Volunteer and Business Partnership Centennial Awards event. The coalition’s award represents the fifth honor of its kind to be presented to an organization that has worked with the school district and consistently earned the district superintendent’s award given to organizations that partner with the district.
